Mid-City Hires Jonathan Lunger as Newest Intern to Join Project Management Mentorship Program
May 8, 2017
We are excited to welcome Project Management and Estimating Intern Jonathan Lunger to the Mid-City team as of May 8, 2017! Jonathan is a senior at The Ohio State University studying Construction Management. He will be spending the summer with us as part of our Project Management Mentorship Program, working alongside several seasoned project managers to gain experience within construction management, learning about and taking on tasks throughout the entire life cycle of various projects.
“We are excited that Jonathan is here and will be a part of our Project Management Mentorship Program. This program, which we developed last year, has really proven to be an excellent way for those just coming out of school to gain an understanding of the industry and practical work experience,” Ryan Dew, Director of Human Resources and Safety, said.
Mid-City developed the Project Management Mentorship Program last year. This program pairs new graduates with an experienced project manager and estimator. Graduates work alongside their mentor to learn about all phases of construction, including project start-up, estimating, and close-out. Blake Scipio, Assistant Project Manager here at Mid-City, got his start in the industry last May through this same program. “During the past year, I have been able to learn in a very hands-on way. I have been working with Dave (Novotny), who has more than 35 years of experience. I started assisting him with project start-up, and counts for estimates, and now I manage several of my own projects,” Blake said.
