We are happy to announce that Monica Poirier has joined the Mid-City Team as the new Marketing Coordinator. In her new role, Monica will be developing and executing strategies to promote our electrical and teledata services. She will support our project managers by creating project proposals and qualification packages, capturing photos of our work, planning customer events, and managing our website and social media channels.
“Monica’s graphic design and photography skills are going to be a major resource for our team,” Sarah Logar, human resource manager, said. “We’re thrilled to have her, as her creativity will add so much to our marketing efforts!”
Monica studied Fine Art with a focus in Electronic Media at The University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning. “I have always been interested in art and design,” Monica said. “Photography was my main focus from an early age. In fact, my first job was at Cord Camera. At UC, I was really able to take my personal interests and apply them to my professional goals.”
After completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts, she started her career at the Columbus Zoo as an Animal Program Specialist. At the zoo, she was able to combine her love of animals, public education, and creativity to inspire and engage audiences to be more passionate about conservation. She then moved to Florida to work for Natural Encounters, Inc as a bird trainer. Monica was also able to work for a major theme park in central Florida and different zoo’s throughout the country during that time as well. She eventually migrated back home to Ohio and accepted a position at Mid-City to continue her creative career in the marketing field.
When not at work, Monica loves to get outdoors and observe nature, work out, spend time with friends, and go on foodie adventures! Oh, and her favorite bird is a raven. 😊
