Mid-City Hires Ric Block as a Project Manager and Estimator

Ric Block is the newest addition to our project management and estimating team here at Mid-City Electric.

Prior to  joining our project management and estimating department,  Ric held various positions on the construction and supplier side of the industry. He worked for several electrical contractors and acquired a variety of experience as a project manager, estimator, supervisor, foreman, and field service electrician. He also spent several years with Siemen’s Building Technologies and Solutions as a fire alarm system design engineer. Some of Ric’s past projects include the OSU North Residential District  Transformation Project, Honda East Liberty Plant, and the Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park Nature Center.

Electrical construction first piqued  Ric’s interest while he was in high school, where he completed several technical courses through a vocational program. Following graduation, Ric joined the U.S. Navy and  continued to nurture his interest in the skilled trades, taking electrical classes and serving as an aviation electrician.

Director of Operations Bill Brethel said, Ric’s experience in the electrical industry, and most recently in fire alarm systems, will provide our estimating team valuable perspective. While all of our project managers are well-versed in all aspects of the industry, they also have specialties. Whether our clients are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in data center work or needs someone who is routinely performing infrastructure upgrades inside hospitals, we’re able to provide the right person for the job based on our team of specialists. Ric’s background and skills with fire alarm will add to that dynamic greatly.

We would like to extend a warm welcome to Ric from all of us here at Mid-City! We are excited to work with you and happy you have joined the team!
