The Nationwide Children's Hospital–Replacement Hospital Project is complete! And after four years of construction, they will be in full-operation caring for patients on June 20.
The healthcare project is Mid-City's largest medical venture to date. The 732,000 square-foot healthcare facility coupled with the 225,000 square-foot research building–Research Building #3–is holding open-door festivities on Sunday, June 10 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at 700 Children's Drive so Columbus residents can tour the facility. At the Community Celebration Day, people from all areas of Columbus will be able to explore their new hospital and celebrate the resource that it will be to the city and its surrounding areas.
Since the start of construction in 2008, Mid-City has played an integral part in bringing the vision of this project to life. Completing electrical installations throughout the entire 13 floors of the hospital and research building, the Mid-City team worked very hard to remain accurate, consistent, and on schedule. The electricians, coordination team, and management not only wanted to meet quality requirements, but exceed them for the children–and the children's families–who would be receiving this hospital's care.
“Seeing this wonderful facility and knowing the great things that will be accomplished there fills me with a great sense of pride. There were many difficulties to overcome to get us here, and I'm grateful to the many talented people who worked so hard to reach this goal,” Brian Dew, Mid-City Electric President, said.”I'm so thankful for our people who took such care and personal interest in building such an amazing place. It sure makes it easy for us to say that our people really do make the difference for our company.”
Mid-City would like to thank Nationwide Children's Research Hospital for the opportunity to be a part of such a valuable project within the Columbus community. Congratulations to everyone at Nationwide Children's for this accomplishment. We can't wait to see our new hospital on June 4th.
