Biography

Gene grew up in Delaware, Ohio, and proudly served in the United States Navy during Desert Storm. After completing his service, he began his civilian career in 1993 in the retail industry, specifically in pet stores, and built a long and successful career in retail leadership.

During his time as a General Manager with Menards in Illinois, a family emergency brought him back to Ohio. He briefly worked for Hobby Lobby, where a coworker spoke highly of Mid-City Electric and the positive culture her husband experienced there. Hearing about a workplace that felt like a true “home,” Gene decided to apply and pursue a new chapter in his career.

Gene is married and the proud father of twin daughters, as well as a grandfather to a granddaughter and a grandson. Family remains at the heart of everything he does, and he brings that same sense of dedication and loyalty to his work each day.

Fun Fact

Gene loves attending sporting events with his wife, and when he’s not cheering from the stands, he enjoys honing his skills as an amateur leather worker.
