Matthew Vanderpool

Biography
Matthew grew up in the small town of Willard, Ohio, where he developed a strong work ethic from an early age. At just 10 years old, he began working alongside his father building crates used to package and transport produce. As a teenager, he spent his summers traveling north to work for his uncle’s concrete company, where he helped pour residential foundations. The hands-on experience he gained in construction also served as his off-season training for football throughout his high school years.
At 21, Matthew entered basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, where he served as a Combat Engineer in the United States Army. His experience with firearms during his military training sparked an interest in hunting, which he continues to enjoy alongside fishing. During his military career, Matthew completed a tour in Baghdad, Iraq, in 2005.
Following his deployment, Matthew returned to the construction industry in 2006 and has remained in the field ever since. He began by working hands-on in a variety of trades, including metal framing, drywall, windows, doors, and interior finishes. His career soon progressed into leadership roles, including overseeing crews in the Virgin Islands working on luxury condominium projects.
In 2009, Matthew returned to Ohio, where he continued to advance his career in construction management. His experience has included serving as an Installation Manager, business owner, Project Manager, and ultimately Field Executive for a commercial general contractor.
Today, Matthew serves as a Project Manager at Mid-City Electric, bringing decades of hands-on construction experience, field leadership, and project management expertise to his role.
