Shawn Straub

Biography
Shawn developed an interest in construction at an early age, a passion that has guided his academic and professional journey. While attending Hope College in Holland, Michigan, he competed in four seasons of collegiate football and explored several areas of study before ultimately focusing on abnormal psychology.
Before completing his senior year, Shawn returned home and gained valuable leadership experience in the restaurant industry, serving as a general manager. In 2003, he resumed his education and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Capital University, positioning himself to pursue a long-term career in construction.
He began in the industry as a residential general contractor and, in 2016, transitioned into commercial construction on the general contractor side of the business. Today, Shawn is proud to contribute his experience and perspective as a member of the Mid-City Electric team.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Shawn dedicated nearly 25 years to coaching wrestling and football, reflecting a deep commitment to mentorship, teamwork, and community involvement.
