We are excited to share that Mid-City will be recognized with a BX Safety Achievement Award by the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio at the 2018 BX Annual Meeting on November 15 at the Columbus Convention Center.
Unlike the BX Safety Innovation Award, which is based on unique safety practices, the BX Safety Achievement Award is determined by evaluating statistical data.
Applicants are evaluated on their workplace injuries and illnesses from the previous calendar year, along with the company’s workers’ compensation experience modification rate (EMR). National figures from the Bureau of Labor Statistics are used as benchmarks in the judging process and finalists are subject to site visits from a team of BX judges.
With the new projects we have taken on in the past year, our safety program has really grown. We continue to focus on ways that we can make sure everyone on the site is putting safety before anything else, Ryan Dew, director of human resources and safety, said. “With our new Site Safety Manager Sanjay Patel and Safety Coordinator Brandon Stowers, we have been able to increase our outreach and training initiatives for our team. That’s something we will continue to make a priority as we plan for 2019.”
We want to congratulate everyone in the field for making safety a priority and allowing us to be recognized for our safety record for the 15th year.
