Mid-Ohio Food Collective New Freezer Addition

Grove City

2024

Scope of Work

Mid-City Electric completed the electrical installation for the Mid-Ohio Food Bank’s new freezer addition, delivering a clean and efficient system to support the facility’s expanded operations.

The project included the installation of a 1,000-amp breaker into existing gear and the routing of three 4-inch conduits to the new addition. A custom strut rack was installed to support multiple disconnects and two 200-amp, 42-circuit panels, along with an 8-foot trough system to manage both primary and secondary conduit runs. A 50KVA transformer was also installed within a compact equipment space, complete with a poured transformer pad.

Midway through the project, power requirements for an ammonia skid were introduced, prompting a quick pivot. Our team coordinated with prefab to design and install a custom outdoor junction box and route additional conduit—despite receiving final equipment details late in the process.

Prefabrication supported the project’s success with expertly crafted EMT bends, rigid sleeves, and preassembled components that kept fieldwork efficient and consistent.
